FTM-200 (USA version) Transmit power output test POST warranty work
Просмотров 349Год назад
This FTM-200 went in to Yaesu for warranty work regarding transmit noise emitted from radio when on digital. PDF documentation states "MAIN-ASSY" which appears they replaced. With that I wanted to bench test radio for RF output. This video is demonstrating the three power levels at extreme ends of the amateur band into a dummy load to determine how close to advertisement the radio is transmitting.

you have 4 or five little rocks jammed between the plastic and the skid plate behind the front wheel on the video @5:21
@@bsmith8297 I do see these . I still feel the plastics should be a bit more durable ? None the less I truly do love the machine . Especially for the price . The fit and finish is actually significantly above my 2024 Honda rancher , hopefully it lasts many years 🤞
@@rash0401 I own the same quad but a 400 two up here in canada, 2024 model
Thanks so much!!!! My 2017 is driving me crazy!!!
Could you leave a link to where you can get the mount?

Be Safe Sir on these ATV 🙏👍😇👌Cheers 🍻
Awesome!
Great review, I to was always curious about that auto system Honda has. Im really interested in a Rancher to add to my garage. How's the power on the Rancher in your eyes? Decent?
to be fair, we only have about 55 miles on it (got it yesterday with 1.2. but immediate impressions is %100 adequate for ANYTHING i plan to do. My STYLE of riding is almost exactly like you see in the 2 min video. I'm not one that loves to FLY down a trail wide open or do wheelies, but the low end torq is spot on for woods riding and rocky hills. With the electronic shifting, it seems even more appealing than a CVT. we HAD a polaris sportsman, and still have a CFmoto cf400. BOTH of them i found myself wanting to ride in a "mid" range instead of high and low. With a CVT low range has enough power but not speed, and high range is harder on the belts. with the honda electronic shifting you don't need to stop to switch ranges. if it remains reliable, i don't see myself ever buying another CVT machine.
@@rash0401 I ride more on the sporty side and was thinking the geared tranny may be better for that. How's the power compare to your CForce 400?
@@rzl07375 way way way more low rpm torque. Bring still in the breakin period I have been pretty easy on the machine . For general open trails the cf400 does great . For slow around the farm yard and such the Honda is my style .
@@rash0401So I have a CF Moto 600 and the biggest gripe I have with this machine is lack of low end. I've done a clutch kit and ECU tune and I feel it still lacks low Now it will go pretty good in the midrange. I really miss low end punch and want more still. I think a Rancher could be a fun quad for me in the 50 inch orv trails here in Michigan.
@@rzl07375 thats good to know about the 600. I kicked around the idea of a CF600 as well when looking. My cf400 truly has been mechanically amazing since day 1. Actually my CF400 has less engine vibration to the rest of the machine than the Honda, my previous Polaris sportsman, and a new Yamaha kodiak 450 I looked at. So in that respect CF does make a nice machine ESPECIALLY for the price. This honda was nearly DOUBLE what i paid for my CF400 that was a new non-current model. In summary tho. non-sporty riding such as around the farm like in the video. hands down perfect.
Having a problem with my 21 serria same thing but it won’t reset and fix it just stays messed up
Can’t i just cut it off ?
How do you set that up in software for simplex , do you type in same frequency in both tx and rx ?
I know this was a few years ago but .how does a person get out of DCS on a Kenwood 281
Hi, sorry this is a bit late, only just seen your video. This is a known problem and Yaesu (Japan) have issued a fix for it. I am in the U.K. and bought the FTM-200de new from one of our emporia. After changing the unit once, and finding the same problem, I contacted Yaesu (U.K.) who immediately recognised the issue. I sent the main unit back to them and it came back fairly quickly.. fixed, no more noise. Apparent there was a batch of radios (not known how many) that got shipped with this problem. The fix involved 6 extra components (3 caps and 3 resistors) of additional 'de-coupling' in the audio chain. You should get in touch with your local Yaesu main distributor and complain. Steve, G1VQV.
Great video, anyone knows how to pinout an xpr4350 radio to radio to make a homemade repeater like the cdm ones? thanks
I have a brand new 2023 just out of a crate 3 months ago. My biggest complaint is the plastic durability to scratches My machine is green and it has yellowish spots on it now
Agreed on the plastics. ruclips.net/video/_4R0gdSmC2c/видео.htmlsi=3x0o8l7bmiOozQ7q
Wouldn’t this require cans to be setup on both the A and B sides to make this work? Or can you use any antenna?
Mantap 😊
Did Yaesu fix this problem in later radios?
I have a friend and local ham just bought one sounded like it still exists however does not sound as significant on his as my 200. Out of all the mobile radios I have only ever heard this on the 200
@@rash0401 thanks for the info. Thinking of getting one for the car. Probably won't be an issue but it's a shame that Yaesu hasn't addressed the problem.
@@Chris-hy6jy have to admit even with that flaw It still may have some of my FAVORITE features on it for a radio. Awesome radio especially when it's on sale.
Where can I get a 281 or 271 no Chinese made
My 2016 4.3 never squeaked - until a dealer dropped the exhaust to get to (and replace) my transmission. Ever since the thing squeaks. Tried spray lube but that only works short-term. Gonna try this.
I have such a repeater and I would like to set it (if possible) in dual mode or (only works locally and is not connected to other repeaters) to work YSF or FM. So if I have the station set to VW DN it works digitally, if I have FM and TSQ it works analog. Is this possible, and if so, how do I set it up? Currently, the repeater works only in FM mode.
You could probably upgrade to a 13gpm or even 16gpm pump for a little better cycle speed
The Chinese-welds are excellent compared to the Mexican-welds on the NEW Can-Ams, thats what changed my mind to CFMOTO. The manufacturing is top-notch, like it should be by now from China, I am trying to pick up a 400 for summer 👍👍
Thanks for that, dude.
My 2017 Chevy 3/4 diesel, screen locking up sporadically, been in chevy 3 tomes now last time it was $ 1300 not working yhd next day, no response to touch
Just ordered one for my 760 king quad
What size bolts were those in the lower rear bumper mount. Allen head bolts?
Not sure it practical but it beautiful in white
Is the controller do ID?
This controller is a basic crossband style where it has zero hang time and no ID . It does however have adjustable audio gain both directions
Nice vid. Videos are great but non. Show the back in how the antenna is setup for cntrl. Any help would be greatly appreciated
depending on location of install. The control receiver N connector on the back of the repeater In a roof top repeater cabinet I ran a mag mount antenna and put it on top of the repeater cabinet. At a repeater tower where the repeater is on the bottom, I've used abandoned lines from the tower even if the antennas are failing or out of band. Does not take much to receive a signal for DTMF controls.
I have the same problem here on a unit in the UK too.
So unfortunate as it otherwise is still one of my favorite radios still to this day
What did Yaesu say when you called them about this?
In summary . Went in for warranty . Main board was stared to be replaced . Returned exactly the same and never heard back after I reached out following the return post work . However I still oddly love the radio and use it daily
👍👍👍❤️new friend here stay connected
Does anyone have a video of this sound so I can compare it to mine?
Looks good.👍 How many orphans are you two getting this year?😉
so far last spring we started with 10 chicks. they grew up. we gained as my wife calls it "Waffles the hospice chicken" so we were at 11 and two months ago for unknown reason one of the original 10 died so we're at 10. yesterday we had 8 eggs! i was impressed for the weather. but they eat good! almost as good as the other rodents around this farm LOL

Is it necessary to ground the mounting bracket of the GP3?
I personally grounded the tower however I did no special ground from antenna to mount (steel tower )
I'm installing a GP3 in my house roof and wonderring if I should ground the mounting bracket.
@@ARC928 I would ground the tripod or mast you are attaching it to also for lightning issues that may arise some day
Will do. Thank you.
That skid plate looks good. Its going to protect the Cforce so well. Im really liking the looks of your atv. White with aluminum skid plate, wow! Are you in Canada?
Central Minnesota . However I’m told I sound Canadian 😂
that's what I thought. But I can see it,@@rash0401
Sharp looking! I like the white. My dad is really enjoying his Cforce 400 touring
Love the white seems to hide dirt better than expected and even more so scratches from woods brush
@@rash0401 I agree
Great video. I have mine coming for my CFORCE 500 next week. Is there is special tools you would recommend? I’m now worried about the wheel rubbing.
I believe if you have a basic metric socket set (perhaps also torex/allen wrench set) you should be set. in regards to sockets I know MOST of the hardware was 10mm however the bolts for the FRONT lower arms is a 13mm. Depending what size torex/ allen sized you need to REMOVE the EXISTING skids would be the only variation from that. Took several hours BUT it's an enjoyable finished product for sure!
are you happy with result? Have you noticed it helping!?
@@matt101batty so far I am very satisfied. My type of trail riding that will be used. The most with this ATV is likely rock and log focused . Very similar to what caused my foot well to crack the first time by simply getting hung up on a log. I almost do zero mud riding, so I’m not super concerned about holding debris up on top. I have put on approximately 30 miles of fairly aggressive writing since I installed the skip plates, and I have noticed no vibration or hardware coming loose yet. I’ve also tested them on a couple of rock piles, and they seem to be holding up extremely well, and doing what I wanted them to do.there’s definitely a cost involved, but hopefully it’s preventative for future issues
Just discovered your videos today. Really enjoy the presentation and honesty. Keep it up and thanks!
We purchased the '22 CForce 500's after looking at the 400's. You get a crazy good atv with extras for chicken feed! Winch, power steering, sweet wheels, etc. Plus a $600 rebate on each! We love them ! Have 500 miles on them so far on rocky Black Hills of South Dakota trails.❤
If you don’t mind me asking, what did you sell and/or how much time did it take you to save up for one? I’m currently 16 and without a job wanting a cforce 500 but I’m stuck on what to do to get one
Very Nice Looking ATV Sir Cheers
Thank you 🙏 such a strange winter down here where we use the skid plate in January for dirt and rocks instead of snow and ice 🧊
The skid plate looks great. Can you leave it all in place to change oil?
Thankfully yes, The oil drain plug has a large plate that comes off with 2 bolts (also 10mm) I thought about leaving it open but it looks fairly easy to remove. The front and rear differentials areas also have laser cutouts so you can access the drain plugs from those without needing to remove any hardware. time will tell how much mud and debris it collects tho. Mixed reviews online in that regards
Are you still happy with blower have you used it yet?
Very happy with it. I have since upgraded tractors to a 35hp Massey and last year put it through the test several times ruclips.net/video/XovKQ9LdJ58/видео.html
Why did was the fan not turning at first?
It just appeared to not be turning because the shutter speed with the fan rotation were matched on the camera. it truly was spinning just video didn't show it.
Well, I guess that's one way to do it. We built a log splitter when I was a teen, but for the pump we just quick coupled it to the pump on our old John Deere A's hydraulic system, let the tractor idle and didn't need a separate engine. Worked like a charm.
Nice bit of diagnostic work. The rear wiper must be on a circuit breaker that would trip and reset. If it was on a fuse, amp draw would have blown the fuse. Funny how the cycle is powered direct instead of through the key. Looks like the wiper blade itself has dislodged from the carrier, causing the hang-up.
Should have got a new wiper out of the deal.....
Always something, at least you found the issue.
Yep, we can never have nice things.😁
LOL
